RECOMMENDATmONS

basis; that aHH discrepancies are corrected; and that the unit
is kept dean and properH7 stored. NEVER operate a
damaged or defective generator.

Generator Maintenance
Generator maintenance consists of keeping the unit dean
and dry. Operate and store the unit in a dean dry
environment where it wiHHnot be exposed to excessive
dust, dirt, moisture or any corrosive vapors. CooHing air
shots in the generator must not become clogged with snow,
Heaves or any other foreign material.
NOTE: DO NOT use a garden hose to dean generator.
'Water can enter engine fuel system and cause probHems. In
addition, if water enters generator through cooHing air shots,
some of the water wiHH be retained in voids and cracks of
the rotor and stator winding insuHation.VVater and dirt
buiHdup on the generator internaH windings wiHH eventuaHH7
decrease the insuHation resistance of these windings.
WANNING
WHEN ADJUSTmNG OR MAKmNG REPAIRSTOYOUR
GENERATOR
• Disconnect the spark plug wire from the spark plug and place
the wire where it cannot contact spark plug,
WHEN TESTING FOR ENGINE SPARK
Use approved spark plug tester:
DO NOT check for spark with spark plug remove&
Generator Cleaning_
° Use a damp cloth to wipe exterior surfaces dean.

DO NOT expose generator to excessive moisture, dust, dirt,
or corrosive vapor's,
DO NOT insert an7 obiects through cooling slots,
Use a soft bristle brush to Hoosen caked on dirt or oiH.
Use a vacuum cHeaner to pick up Hoose dirt and debris.
Use How pressure air (not to exceed 25 psi) to Mow
away dirt. Inspect coming air shots and opening on
generator.These openings must be kept dean and
unobstructed.
