Generator
maintenance
consists
of keeping
the unit dean
and dry. Operate
and store
the unit in a dean dry
environment
where
it wiHHnot be exposed
to excessive
dust, dirt, moisture
or any corrosive
vapors.
CooHing air
shots in the generator
must not become
clogged with snow,
Heaves or any other
foreign material.
NOTE:
DO NOT
use a garden
hose to dean generator.
'Water
can enter
engine fuel system
and cause probHems. In
addition,
if water
enters
generator
through
cooHing air shots,
some of the water
wiHH be retained
in voids and cracks of
the rotor
and stator
winding
insuHation.VVater
and dirt
buiHdup on the generator
internaH windings
wiHH eventuaHH7
decrease
the insuHation resistance
of these
windings.
