WARNING
Never remove more than 3 links from a chain loop as this may damage the sprocket.
CHAIN LUBRICATION
Always make sure that the automatic greasing system is working properly.
Keep the oil reservoir filled with oil for the chain, bar and Talon sprocket.
Proper lubrication of the bar and chain during cutting operations is essential to minimise friction with the
guide bar.
Never leave the guide bar and chain unlubricated. Running the saw dry or with too little oil will decrease
the efficiency of fast cutting, shorten the life of the saw chain, quickly dull the chain and cause excessive
wear on the guide bar due to overheating. Lack of oil is manifested by smoke or discolouration of the guide
bar.
13. MAINTENANCE OF A DOUBLE INSULATED APPLIANCE
In this double-insulated apparatus, 2 insulation systems are provided instead of grounding. No grounding
means is provided on a double-insulated appliance, nor should a grounding means be added to the
appliance. There are no serviceable parts inside.
1. Turn the power switch to OFF and unplug the power supply before checking, cleaning or servicing the
appliance.
2. Keep the air intake clean and the ventilation openings free of debris to prevent the motor from
overheating.
3. Clean with a damp sponge and mild soap. Do not wet the machine with water or other liquids.
4. Inspect the chainsaw chain for proper tension before each use and frequently during cutting. Sharpen
as necessary.
5. Clean the guide bar and bar pad to ensure a clear path for oil.
6. Rotate the bar at each use to achieve even wear.
7. It is not necessary to lubricate the motor. The motor is equipped with lubricated-for-life bearings.
8. If the saw does not operate, turn the switch to the OFF position and disconnect the extension cord, first
from the power source and then from the saw. Check for blown fuses or tripped circuit breakers at the
power source. Do not attempt to repair it yourself. There are no serviceable parts inside.
