In DSC menu, select "POLL REQUEST" functions, and then select a desired pre-programmed individual address or "MANUAL INPUT".
● The ID code for the individual should be pre-programmed in advance.
● If "MANUAL INPUT" is selected, press [▲] or [▼] to set the 9-digit MMSI ID code for the individual you wish to call.
Channel 70 is automatically selected and "READY" appears in the channel comments display. Press [ENT] to transmit the polling request call.
If channel 70 is busy, the transceiver will remain in standby mode until the channel becomes clear. After the position report call has been
transmitted, the transceiver will return to normal operation mode.
♦ Receive a polling request call:
When a polling request call is received:
1. "DSC" and "RCV POLL REQUEST" appear on the LCD.
2. The beeps sound. Press [CLR] to stop the beeps.
3. Press [ENT] to reply the call, or press [CLR] to ignore.
♦ Transmit a polling reply call:
Transmit a polling reply call when a polling request call is received.
In DSC menu, select "POLL REPLY" function.
● "POLL REPLY" appears after receiving a polling request call.
Press [▲] or [▼] to select a desired individual address. Channel 70 is automatically selected and "READY" appears in the channel comments
display. Press [ENT] to transmit the polling reply call, then the transceiver will return to normal operation mode.
♦ Receive a polling reply call:
When a polling reply call is received:
1. "DSC" and "RCV POLL REPLY" appear on the LCD.
2. The beeps sound. Press [CLR] to stop the beeps.
■ Test Call:
Testing on the dedicated DSC distress and safety calling channels should be avoided as much as possible by using other methods. When
testing on the distress/safety channel is unavoidable, it should be indicated that these are test transmissions. Normally the test would no
require further communications between the two stations involved.
