For your safety
1.1
General safety statements
• Before using this product, carefully read these Instructions for Use and those of the
associated components.
• Strictly follow the Instructions for Use. The user must fully understand and strictly
observe the instructions.
• Use the product only for the purposes specified in the Intended use section of this
document.
• Only trained and competent users are permitted to use this product.
• Follow the local and national guidelines pertaining to this product.
• Only trained and competent personnel are permitted to inspect, repair and service the
product.
• Use only genuine RSG spare parts and accessories, or the proper functioning of the
product may be impaired.
• Do not use a faulty or incomplete product. Do not modify the product.
• It is mandatory to wear hearing protection in combination with all RSG headtops.
• Notify RSG Safety in the event of any product or component fault or failure.
• Improper use of this equipment may result in personal injury or death. Improper
use includes, but is not limited to, use without adequate training, disregard of the
warnings and instructions contained herein, and failure to inspect and maintain
this respiratory protective equipment. Read and understand all instructions before
attempting to operate or service this equipment.
• This equipment is intended to be used only in conjunction with an organized
Respiratory Protection program.
• Before using this equipment, read the contents of EN 529:2005 and familiarize yourself
with the requirements for Respiratory Protective Devices RPD and their potential
effects on the wearer.
• PAPR (Powered Air Purifying Respirator) system users must be familiar with workplace
hazards prior to using the equipment and must be fully trained in the use of the T-Air®
Powered Air Purifying Respirator.
• In the 'power off' state, there is little or no respiratory protection. This is regarded as
an abnormal condition. In the 'power off' state, a rapid build-up of carbon dioxide a
depletion of oxygen within the hood, mask or helmet may occur.
• RSG SAFETY B.V PAPR's must be used with a RSG SAFETY headtop and filters, unless
otherwise directed. Read this manual, the headtop manual and RSG SAFETY Filter
manuals, prior to using this equipment.
• The PAPR must be fitted with appropriate and correct range of filters for the workplace
hazards.
• This product must only be used with filters manufactured by RSG SAFETY B.V. The use
of any other filters will negate the approval and will be likely to reduce the level of
protection provided. Do not compromise your health and life!
