Connecting the Reader
This section describes how to connect the FireWire 800 RW034 Reader.
To connect the reader to your computer:
1. Plug the 1 meter 9-pin to 9-pin FireWire 800
cable into one of the ports on the reader.
2. Plug the other end of the 1 meter 9-pin to
9-pin FireWire 800 cable into an available
FireWire 800 port on your computer.
NOTE: You can connect multiple RW034 readers by
daisy-chaining them together. See the "Connecting
Readers Together" section for more information.
Inserting and Removing Cards
To insert a CF or UDMA CF card into your reader:
1. Hold the card as shown.
2. With your other hand, hold the reader down
firmly, and then slide the card into the slot on
the reader as far as it will go.
3. When the card is inserted correctly, the Eject button
(also the LED) pops out, and blinks to indicate that the
computer and reader have recognized the card.
NOTE: The LED also blinks when you transfer photos to your card.
