lock switch can be slid to the "L" position. Do
not force the zoom operation while the zoom
ring is locked.
T: The zoom operation offers greater resistance
than usual, which prevents the front of
the lens from moving back and forth
unintentionally. If you have difficulty sliding
the zoom lock switch to the "T" position,
rotating the zoom ring slightly may smooth
the sliding operation.
S: The zoom operation offers normal resistance.
Attaching and Storing the Hood (Fig. 1)
The hood can be attached on the lens in reverse
direction when storing.
Attaching the Strap (Fig. 2)
Using the Tripod Mount (Fig. 3)
1
Loosen the tripod mount lock screw (1).
2
Rotate the lens as desired (2).
• There are indices positioned every 90°
around the lens for guides to estimate
positioning.
3
Tighten the tripod mount lock screw (3).
The tripod mount and tripod mount foot cannot
be removed.
Notes on Shooting
• Edges of pictures may be cut off if more than
one filter is used or if a thick filter is used.
• When using a flash, flash light may be blocked
by the lens body, lens hood, etc.
• Usage conditions may lower the number of
images that can be captured.
• Be sure to support the lens while it is attached
to the camera. Supporting only the camera
could result in damage to the lens mount or
cause the lens to fall. It could also adversely
affect splashproof and optical performance.
• When carrying the camera with the lens
attached, use a strap attached to the lens, not
the strap attached to the camera.
• When using a tripod, attach the tripod to the
lens tripod mount, not to the camera.
• Do not touch electric contacts on cameras.
Maintenance
Blow dust off the lens with a commercially
available blower. For the lens, wipe gently with a
lens cleaning paper. Mold may form on the lens
surface if the lens is left dirty.
