Switching Focus Mode
Autofocus (AF): pull the focus ring to the rear and set the focus mode to AF
(or AF-S or AF-C if supported).
Manual focus (MF): there are two ways to switch to MF.
• Push the focus ring to the front and the focus mode will switch to MF
automatically. The current focus distance is the value on the distance
scale when it is aligned with the orange mark on the DOF scale. Rotate
the focus ring to adjust the focus distance. Check the DOF range of the
corresponding aperture via the DOF scale.
• Pull the focus ring to the rear and set the focus mode to MF. Rotate the
focus ring to focus manually.
Using the Lens Control Ring
Go to General Settings on the camera, then Custom Buttons, and select
the parameters controlled by the lens control ring. Press the Menu button
to return to the control screen. Rotate the lens control ring to quickly
adjust the parameter.
MTF
Every Hasselblad lens is manufactured under strict regulations and must
pass multiple stringent tests. An MTF chart is used to reflect the ability of a
lens to reproduce contrast and resolve details. Low spatial frequencies
reflect overall contrast and high spatial frequencies reflect detail
resolution. MTF 100% indicates ideal performance.
The horizontal axis represents the image height (distance of a given point
on the lens from the center of the sensor). The vertical axis represents the
contrast value (maximum number of 100).
Modulation Transfer as a function of image height at infinity settings.
Sagittal slit orientation drawn with continuous line and tangential with
dashed. White light. Spatial frequencies 10, 20, and 40 lp/mm.
