11 - OPERATING MODES
The WeGo RFID Reader has two operating modes. The "Slave Reader" mode and the "Master Reader" mode.
11.1 - SLAVE READER MODE
In the "Slave Reader" mode, the equipment must always be connected to another master equipment with memory,
such as Nice receivers and controllers: MG3000, CTW3004, RMF3004, Controller Board II, among others.
In this mode of operation, the actions carried out by the user, such as card access, will be sent via the Wiegand out-
put, so that when the receiver receives this information, it validates the user's access. Emphasizing that the output
settings of the reader's Wiegand channel must be in accordance with the standard that the receiver accepts. The
return of user access is made from the signaling carried out at the "LED-Buzzer" input of the reader, through the
"LED-Buzzer" receiver output, if this channel is connected.
By definition, the WeGo RFID Reader will remain in Reader mode as long as there is no WeGo Converter connected
to the RS485 channel.
11.2 - MASTER READER MODE
When the WeGo Converter is connected to the RS485 channel, communication occurs between them and the WeGo
RFID Reader becomes the "Master Reader".
In this mode, the reader controls user access using the internal memory and controls the operation and activation of
the WeGo Converter.
For proper operation of the Reader + Converter system, the relay time and door sensor time settings must match
the installation requirements. Remember that this system includes the control of a door or gate. For more complex
access controls, we recommend the use of the "Reader + Receiver" system in the "Slave Reader" mode explained
above.
In "Master Reader" mode, it is possible to access by RFID card. The reader only accepts Mifare Nice cards, which
must have Nice encryption and serialization as standard. The card is read without the need for direct contact between
the card and the reader, and the distance varies according to the installation and the structure in which the reader is
mounted, with a maximum distance of approximately 60 mm.
When a user is activated, the presence of the card internally verifies that the user has been properly enrolled. If the
user has not been enrolled, the reader will generate an audible warning regarding the reading of the card. If the user
is properly enrolled, the device will generate a visual warning in green and an audible warning with 2 short beeps,
and will also send an opening command to the WeGo Converter so that the relay remains activated according to the
time configured on the reader.
11.2.1 - WEGO CONVERTER
The WeGo Converter has a push-button input, which has the same effect as a user activation. If the button is pressed
for more than 0.5 seconds, the reader will then request the WeGo Converter to activate the relay according to the
relay time settings explained above.
The WeGo Converter has a door sensor input, so it is possible to generate an audible and visual warning if the user
has forgotten or left the door open longer than necessary for access. The equipment has two types of signaling, im-
mediate and access.
Immediate activation occurs when the gate (and therefore the sensor) is opened without proper user activation. In
this case, the reader will trigger the intermittent audible and visual alarm until the sensor returns to the closed state.
Access activation occurs when a user makes valid access and opens the gate. In this case, the equipment will count
the door sensor along with the relay time.
Example 1: Sensor time = 0
- The sensor will not be triggered in either the immediate opening or the access opening.
NOTES: Set the time to 0 if you do not use the door sensor.
Example 2: Sensor time between 5 and 60
- With instant opening, the reader will trigger the open door alarm if the sensor is open for less than 0.6 seconds and
will stop the alarm when the sensor returns to its normal (closed) state.
- When opening by access, the reader waits for the relay time and then waits for the door open time.
If the sensor closes before the end of the relay time + door sensor time, the door open alarm will not occur.
If the user opens and holds the door open after the activation time (relay time) plus the alarm time (door sensor time),
the unit will sound the alarm until the sensor returns to its normal operating state (closed).
