Connection Precautions
When
connecting,
either disconnect the power plug from the power
outlet or turn off the unit's power using the POWER
switch.
*
Before
connecting,
read
through
the Operating
Instructions
of the
other audio components which will be connected to this unit.
*
Check
the
left and
right channels and connect
properly
(L to L and
R to R).
*
Insert the plugs securely.
Improper connection can lead to the genera-
tion of noise.
AC OUTLETS
Power is supplied to the auxiliary AC OUTLETS on the rear panel when
the power cord is connected to a household AC outlet. It's a good idea to
connect the power plugs of the tape deck, tuner and other components
connected to the amplifier to these outlets.
The
SWITCHED
outlet
is coupled
to the amplifier's
POWER
switch
which
controls its ON
and OFF
operations.
Its maximum
capacity is
100 watts.
The
UNSWITCHED
outlet
is not controlled
by the POWER
switch; its
capacity is 200 watts.
Connecting
electrical
appliances with a power consumption
exceeding
these
ratings
is extremely
dangerous.
Check
the ratings before connec-
tion.

NOTE:
Depending on the laws and regulation enforced locally, models
without

Speaker System Connections
Connect the left channel (on the left when viewed from the front) speaker
system to the SPEAKERS L terminals and the right channel system to
the R terminals.
Connect
the (+) speaker terminals to the red (+) terminals on the speaker
system and the (—) speaker terminals to the black (—) terminals. If these
polarities are not aligned properly, the sound of the instruments will be
not be positioned
stably, the sound
in the center will appear lacking and
a true stereo effect will not be obtained.

When connecting, do not allow the conductor of the speaker cords to
be exposed
from
the terminals and come
into contact with other
terminals.
*
Speakers
with
an
impedance
ranging from
8 to
16 ohms
are com-
patible with this amplifier. Using a speaker system with an impedance
of less than 8 ohms will cause the internal temperature of the unit to
rise and may cause malfunctions or a breakdown.
Turntable Connections
Connect the turntable's output cord L (white) plug to the L PHONO ter-
minal and the R (red) plug to the R terminal. Connect the ground wire
to the GND (ground) terminal.
Tuner Connections
Connect the tuner's output cord L (white) plug to the TUNER L termi-
nal and the R (red) plug to the R terminal.
Tape Deck Connections
Recording connections:
Connect the tape recording (REC) terminals to
the recording input (LINE IN) terminals on the tape deck using the
pin plug cord.
Playback connections:
Connect the tape playback (PLAY) terminals to
the playback output
(LINE OUT)
terminals on the tape deck using
the pin plug cord.
There are two sets of tape terminals on this unit. Connect 'the second
tape deck to the TAPE-2 terminals.

AUX Terminals
The
auxiliary
input
(AUX)
terminals
have the same electrical
perform-
ance as the tuner or tape terminals. Use them to connect a second stereo
tuner or a tape player. Connect the AUX terminals with the OUTPUT
terminals on the component using the pin plug cord.
