▪ Ensure that the ON/OFF switch is not pressed while
connecting the appliance to the compressed air supply. If the
ON/OFF switch is damaged or does not allow the operation
of the pneumatic tool to be controlled, it must be repaired
or replaced in order to prevent any unintentional start.
Perform all adjustments and work necessary for the correct
assembly of the pneumatic sander. If you have any questions or
difficulties, contact your official distributor.
While operating
Keep third parties away from the pneumatic tool's area
of operation. Never work while animals or people,
especially children, are in the danger zone.
Keep the work area clean, organized and well lit (250 to 300 lux
light), thus decreasing the risk of accidents.
Always wear personal protective equipment and clothing.
Wearing a visor or goggles, dust mask, hearing protection, anti-
slip safety shoes, long-sleeved clothing, gloves and helmet
properly reduces the risk of injury.
If during operation particles or debris that may be hot or
incandescent are projected, wear a heat-resistant protective
apron.
Everyone coming into the work area must wear personal
protective equipment. Fragments can be thrown out when the
appliance is being used and cause injury outside the direct work
area.
Clothing worn during the appliance operation must be
adequate, tight and closed, for example, a work boiler suit. Do
not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Keep hair, clothing and
gloves away from rotating parts.
The following precautions and procedures should also be
followed to avoid accidents:
▪ Always use clean, dry compressed air with a pressure equal
to or lower than the pressure indicated on the technical data
table;
▪ Never use oxygen, carbon dioxide or combustible gases as a
source of energy to start the device;
▪
The rotating attachments' speed of the pneumatic sander
must be at least equal to the maximum speed stated in the
technical specifications;
▪ When operating the pneumatic sander, adopt a stable
position and always keep your balance. Hold the appliance
firmly to ensure continuous operation and withstand
unexpected situations, such as kickback;
The kickback is a sudden reaction that happens when the
pneumatic tool is switched on and the rotating accessory gets
jammed. The rotating accessory kickback forces the pneumatic
tool to rotate in the opposite direction to the rotation of the
accessory.
The kickback occurs due to an incorrect use of the pneumatic
tool or due to an improper working procedure which can cause
serious injuries to the user. Loss of control can result in serious
injury. To avoid the kickback, the following precautions must be
considered:
- Always use the supplied auxiliary handle to achieve the
greatest possible control over kickback forces or reaction
torques during acceleration and starting of the appliance;
- Place/keep the sanding disc in a correct and stable position;
- Keep your hands away from the rotating parts;
- Do not position your body in the area where pneumatic tool
will move if kickback occurs;
When the sanding disc gets jammed, switch off the appliance
immediately.
- Work carefully around corners, sharp edges or uneven surfaces
to be sanded. Prevent the velcro pad from being hit while
working;
▪ To avoid displacements or projections use fixing devices or a
bench vice to ensure a safe performance;
▪ Make sure that the ventilation slots are not clogged. Do not
insert any objects over the ventilation slots;
▪ Make sure that you don't damage the electrical circuits, gas
and water pipes when operating the equipment. Any
damage to these installations can cause fire, explosion,
electric shock or property damage.
