IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
• Only use the iron on a stable surface.
• If the appliance or the power cord shows any signs
of damage, do not operate it! Take the product
to an authorized and qualified service center for
inspection or repair.
• Ensure the appliance is turned off and
disconnected from power source before filling it
with water.
• Do not leave the appliance unattended when
plugged into a power outlet.
• This appliance heats up during use. To avoid
burns, do not touch hot surfaces.
• Always disconnect the appliance from the power
source before draining the water.
• The appliance can be used by children aged from
8 years and above and persons with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack
of experience and knowledge if they have been
given supervision or instruction concerning use
of the appliance in a safe way and understand the
hazards involved. Children shall not play with the
appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall
not be made by children unless they are older
than 8 and supervised. Keep the appliance and its
cord out of reach of children less than 8 years.
• The sealing cap at the bottom of the base unit
must always be well closed during use.

The safety of electrical appliances from FIRST

directives and legal regulations for safety.
Nevertheless, you and the other users of the
appliance should observe the following:
• Please read these instructions carefully before
using this appliance for the first time and keep
them for further reference.
• This product has not been designed for any
other uses than those specified in this manual.
• Before connecting the appliance to the power
source, check if the voltage indicated on the
appliance corresponds with the mains voltage
in your home. If this is not the case, contact
your dealer and do not use the appliance.
• If the appliance is grounded (protection class I),
the wall outlet and any extension to which it is
connected must also be grounded.
• To avoid overloading the electrical circuit, do
not operate another high wattage appliance
on the same circuit.
• Do not let the cord touch hot surfaces.
• Do not use the product near gas sources or
other flammable materials or objects.
• To protect from electrical hazard, do not
immerse this appliance or cordset in any
liquids.
• The power outlet must be easily accessible at
all times to ensure that the unit can be quickly
disconnected from the mains.
• Make sure the appliance is switched off before
plugging in or unplugging the device.
• This device is intended for home use only, do
not use it commercially.
• Do not use this appliance outdoors.
• Avoid contact with hot steam during or right
after operation. Risk of scalding!
• Always disconnect the appliance from power
after use, before cleaning and in the event of a
malfunction.
• As long as the appliance is hot, it should be
supervised, even if it is not connected to the
mains. Allow the appliance to cool down fully
before cleaning and storing it.
• Do not pull directly on the power cord, rather
pull on the plug to disconnect the appliance
from the power source.
• We are excluded of liability for all damages that
may arise if the appliance is used for purposes
other than originally intended or if it is used
inappropriately.
• Repairs and other work undertaken on the unit
must only be done by authorised specialist
personnel!

BEFORE FIRST USE
• This product has been tested for quality
assurance. Due to the process, there may be
single drops of residual water in the appliance.
• Remove any labels, stickers or packaging from
the iron and soleplate.
• Do not worry if the iron smokes a bit at first, it
will stop after few uses.
• Iron an old piece of cotton fabric to clean the
soleplate.
IRON LOCK
When the iron is properly paced on the heat-
insulated stand of the base unit, you can lock
it in place by pushing the lock lever to the lock
position ( ). Push the lock lever to the unlock
position (
) to unlock the iron again.
When the iron is locked, it is safe for transport.
When the iron is unlocked, you can lift it from the
base unit.
