CARE AND MAINTENANCE
WARNING
• All maintenance should only be carried out by a qualified service technician.
• Before cleaning or performing any maintenance, remove the battery pack. For safe and
proper operation, always keep the machine and its ventilation slots clean.
• When servicing, use only identical replacement parts. Use of any other parts may create a
hazard or cause product damage.
• Always wear safety goggles or safety glasses with side shields marked to comply with ANSI
Z87.1 along with hearing protection during machine operation or when blowing dust. If the
operation is dusty, also wear a dust mask.
• When cleaning the machine, DO NOT immerse it in water or other liquids.
• Do not at any time let brake fluids, gasoline, petroleum-based products, penetrating oils,
etc., come in contact with plastic parts. Chemicals can damage, weaken, or destroy plastic,
which may result in serious personal injury.
• The auger bit is very sharp. To prevent personal injury, exercise extreme caution when
cleaning, installing, or removing the auger bit. Always wear protective gloves when
performing maintenance on the auger bit.
Cleaning
• After each use, clean debris from the auger bit using a damp cloth with a mild detergent.
• Before cleaning with water, remove the auger bit from the drive shaft by unlocking the quick
release pin. Do not wet the power head (L).
• Store the locking pin (H) in the auger bit when not in use.
• Moisture can cause an electric shock hazard. Wipe off any moisture with a soft dry cloth.
• Use a small brush or the air discharge of a small vacuum cleaner brush to clear dust or
debris from the air vents in the power head.
15. Transporting and Storing
• Do not store or transport the machine when it is running. Always remove the auger bit and
battery pack before storing or transporting.
• For transportation, secure the product against movement or falling to prevent injury to
persons or damage to the product.
• Clean the machine thoroughly before storing. Store the machine indoors, in a dry, well-
ventilated place that is locked and/or inaccessible to children.
• Keep away from corrosive agents such as garden chemicals and de-icing salts
