SAFETY INFORMATION
Auger Safety Instructions
• Hold the machine with both hands at the intended handles. Loss of control can cause
personal injury.
• Hold the machine by insulated gripping surfaces, when performing an operation
where the digging accessory may contact hidden wiring. Digging accessory contacting
a "live" wire may make exposed metal parts of the machine "live" and could give the
operator an electric shock.
• Always start auger at low speed and with the auger bit tip in contact with the ground.
At higher speeds, the bit is likely to bend if allowed to rotate freely without contacting the
ground, resulting in personal injury.
• Apply pressure only in direct line with the bit and do not apply excessive pressure.
Bits can bend causing breakage or loss of control, resulting in personal injury.
• Always be sure you have a firm footing. Be sure no one is below when using the machine
in high locations.
• Hold the machine firmly.
• Keep hands away from rotating parts.
• Do not leave the machine running. Operate the machine only when hand-held.
• Do not touch the auger bit immediately after operation. It may be extremely hot and
could burn your skin.
• If something wrong with the machine, such as abnormal sounds, stop operating immediately
and contact your local service center for repair.
• Before operation, make sure that there is no buried object such as electric pipe, water
pipe, or gas pipe in the ground. Otherwise, the machine may touch them, resulting an
electric shock, electrical leakage, or gas leak.
• For best results, your battery-operated machine should be stored and used in a location
where the temperature is more than 14°F (-10°C) but less than 113°F (45°C). Do not store
outside or in vehicles.
• Do not charge the battery pack in rain, or in wet locations.
• Do not open or mutilate the battery. Released electrolyte is corrosive and may cause
damage to the eyes or skin. It may be toxic if swallowed.
• Battery-operated machines do not have to be plugged into an electrical outlet;
therefore, they are always in operating condition. Be aware of possible hazards even
when the machine is not operating. Take care when performing maintenance or service.
• Do not wash with a hose; avoid getting water in motor and electrical connections.
