The pump may only be operated on an elec-
trical installation in accordance with DIN/VDE
0100, parts 737, 738 and 702. For fuse pro-
tection, a circuit breaker of 10 A and an earth
leakage circuit breaker with a rated leakage
current of 10/30 mA must be installed.
Only use extension leads approved for out-
door use with a minimum cross-section of
2
1.5 mm
. Always fully unwind cable drums.
Damaged or fragile extension cables may not
be used.
Check the condition of your extension
lead prior to every use.
If the connection cable must be extended,
only a cable type H07RN-F and a moulded
sleeve must be used. This work must only be
carried out by an electrician.
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be re-
placed by the manufacturer, its service agent
or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid
a hazard.
4 ASSEMBLY
IMPORTANT! Danger of damage to the
pump! The pump will not function correctly if the
tapping point is 15 m higher than the pump.
Ensure that the tapping point is not more
than 15 m above the pump.
4.1
Install the pump
1. Prepare a level and sturdy installation loca-
tion.
2. Install the pump horizontally and where it will
not be flooded.
The pump must be protected from rain and
direct water jets.
NOTE In day-to-day operation (automatic
mode), suitable measures must be taken to ex-
clude the possibility of flooding of rooms as a re-
sult of malfunctions in the pump.
4.2
Connect the suction line
NOTE We recommend the installation of
flexible lines at the pump inlet to prevent me-
chanical pressure or tension being exerted on the
pump.
1. Select the length of suction line (14) such
that the pump cannot run dry. The suction
line must always be at least 30 cm under the
water surface.
18
2. Connect the suction line. Ensure that the
connection is tight, but take care not to dam-
age the thread.
3. Always lay the suction line with an upward
gradient.
NOTE If the suction head is more than 4 m,
a suction hose with a diameter larger than 1"
must be installed. We recommend the use of an
AL-KO suction unit with suction hose, suction fil-
ter and flow-back stop. Ask your specialist dealer.
4.3
Install pressure line
1. Screw connecting nipple (12) with round seal
ring (13) into pump outlet (4).
2. Screw elbow nipple (10) with seal (11) onto
connecting nipple (12) and turn the elbow
nipple in the required direction.
3. Connect pressure line (8) to elbow nipple (10).
5 START-UP
5.1
Fill the pump
IMPORTANT! Danger of damage to the
pump! Dry running will destroy the pump!
The pump must be filled with water up to the
overflow before each use so that it can draw
water immediately.
NOTE Fill the suction hose with water before
screwing in place to reduce the suction time.
1. Open filling screw (3) using the filter wrench.
2. Pour in water through the filling screw until
the pump housing is full.
3. Screw in filling screw.
5.2
Initial commissioning
1. Open a shut-off device (valve, spray nozzle,
water cock) in the pressure line.
2. Insert the plug of the mains cable into the
power socket. The pumps starts to pump.
3. When no more air comes out with the water,
close the shut-off device in the pressure line.
The pump switches off when the flow stops,
after building up pressure.
The pump is ready for operation. The display
shows AUTO O and FLOW O.
NOTE On initial commissioning, all informa-
tion appears on the display in English. Select the
desired language with the MODE button and con-
firm with the SET button. The air pressure in the
storage vessel can now be checked.
