Selecting a sound source from an amplifier:
In order to listen to sources (CD Player, Tuner, etc.) connected to an amplifier through the SE-
472BK, you need to select a sound source from the amplifier. (See the instructions for amplifiers.)
For amplifiers equipped with a monitor function:
1. Turn on the monitor function.
2. Using the source selector, select a sound source other than the cassette deck which is
connected to the SE-472BK. —
3. Play the source you have selected.
If you want to listen to a cassette deck which is connected to the SE-472BK, press the
LINE OUT button on the SE-472BK for the TAPE function. As long as the monitor
function of the amplifier has been turned on, the cassette deck will start playing back
regardless of the source selector settings.
For amplifiers equipped with an REC (Recording) function:
1. Using the source selector, select from sound source terminals (TAPE 1 or TAPE 2) to which
the SE-472BK is connected.
2. Using the REC (Recording) selector, select a sound source other than the cassette deck
which is connected to the SE-472BK.
3. Play the source you have selected.

If you want to listen to a cassette deck which is connected to the SE-472BK, press the
LINE OUT button on the SE-472BK for the TAPE function. As long as the source selector
of the amplifier is set to the terminals (either TAPE-1 or TAPE-2) to which the SE-472BK
is connected, the cassette deck will start playing back regardless of the REC (Recording)
selector settings.
For amplifiers equipped with adaptor terminals:
1. Using the source selector, select a sound source other than the cassete deck which is
connected to the SE-472BK.
2. Play the source you have selected.

If you want to listen to a cassette deck which is connected to the SE-472BK, press the
LINE OUT button on the SE-472BK for the TAPE function. The cassette deck will then
Start playing back regardless of the amplifier source selector settings.
Adjusting input levels:
When the input level is so high that the TOTAL indicator on the display is constantly reaching
the top limit, you should adjust the level by pressing the ATTENUATOR button.
=-6dB:
Input level of the source which is being played back will be halved.
H OdB: = Input level of the source which is being played back will remain unchanged.
