Tips
• A high ambient temperature has a negative effect on energy consumption. Direct
sunlight and the presence of other heat sources near the appliance also have an
undesirable effect.
• Keep ventilation openings clear. Power consumption increases if these openings are
covered or clogged. Allow enough space around the refrigerator for sufficient ventilation
and air circulation around the appliance.
• Do not open the appliance door more often than necessary and leave the door open
for as short a time as possible each time.
• The spacing between the shelves and the bottom of the appliance ensures the free
circulation of air. Avoid pressing food against the bottom of the appliance.
• Set the thermostat to the lowest possible setting if conditions so permit.
• Before refrigerating cooked food, wait until it has cooled to room temperature.
• Frost or ice increases energy consumption. The appliance should be defrosted as
soon as the ice reaches a thickness of 3 to 5 mm.
• Energy consumption increases if the door seal is not perfectly sealed.
• Failure to follow the operating instructions may result in increased energy
consumption.
Please adhere to the following instructions in order to avoid any contamination of food.
- When the door is left open for a long time, the temperature in the different
compartments of the appliance can rise considerably.
- Regularly clean surfaces likely to come into contact with food, as well as the
accessible drainage routes.
- Store raw meat and fish in appropriate packaging in the refrigerator so that they do
not come into contact with other foods or drip onto other foods.
- Two star freezer compartments are suitable for storing already frozen food, making
ice cubes and making or storing ice cream.
- Compartments with one, two or three stars are not intended for freezing fresh food.
