Packing retainer and
packing attachment *
1 Insert packing (10) into packing
retainer (9) as shown, holding in place
with one thumb, while pressing packing
into packing retainer on other side with
opposite hand (→ Fig. 4-A).
2 Place assembled packing and packing
retainer onto end of pump tube (19)
(→ Fig. 4-B).
3 Invert pump tube and place pump tube
end on clean, flat surface.
4 Push pump tube downward and twist to
seat assembled packing and packing
retainer (→ Fig. 4-C).
5 Turn pump tube right side up to check that
assembled and packing retainer is firmly
seated.
6 Similarly, install packing retainer (9) and
packing (10) onto bushing and nut
assembly (2).
7 Clean seal cavities in outlet body (3) and
foot valve (15).
