TROUBLESHOOTING

The table includes some of the most common problems, their causes and remedies.
PROBLEM
Engine will not start
The engine runs
irregularly during
operation
It's hard for the
engine to start
The engine lacks
power
The engine does
not stop when the
control is in the stop
position.
Handlebar moves
forward during
ignition
It's difficult
to control the
handlebars when
you're ploughing
The burs turn but
the wheels don't
turn.
The teeth spin, the
wheels spin, but the
tiller doesn't move.
Belts are in neutral
or reverse position
Add fuel to the tank
Connecting the spark plug wire
The throttle must be in the throttle position for a cold start.
Clean or replace the air filter
Drain the old fuel and replace it with a new one.
Make sure that the spark plug wire is connected correctly.
The safety control levers must be in a neutral position to start the engine.
Raise the cutters to work at a shallower depth (using a depth adjuster)
Remove and clean the fuel tank
Clean or replace the air filter
Carburettor setting is incorrect, have the engine serviced.
Replace the spark plug and adjust the distance
Drain and refill the tank and carburetor
Check and adjust the throttle
The safety control levers must be in neutral position to start the engine.
Set the wheels to the working position
Raise the burs for shallower ploughing
Put the wheels in working position
If internal transmission fails, contact your dealer
Lower the tines to deepen by raising the depth setting lever
Turn off the engine and let it cool down
Disconnect the spark plug wire
Pull down the safety control levers
Replace the spark plug strap and cable
