In DISC mode the user can eliminate the detection of unwanted metals. To
eliminate some categories from detection, set the numerical discrimination
value according to the digital object identification (see METAL TABLE) using
the "+", "-" buttons. The detector will find only those metals whose value in
the METAL TABLE is specified as greater than or equal to the numerical
discrimination value.
b) NOTCH MODE (SELECTIVE DISCRIMINATION, INDENTATION):
In NOTCH mode, the user specifies which categories of metals to search for
and which not to search for. Unlike normal discrimination (DISC), NOTCH mode
is capable of detecting iron and coins and rejecting aluminum foil, for example.
TESTING
1. Testing the unit before using it for the first time both indoors and outdoors is
recommended.
2. Note how the detector reacts to individual metals.
3. Prepare the accessories to perform the test:
• nail,
a silver coin,
•
• a gold ring,
zinc coin.

OPERATING THE UNIT INDOORS
1. To turn on the unit, gently turn the knob clockwise.
2. Set the desired operating mode:
A. DISC (discrimination) mode:
a) Press the MENU button, select DISC mode, then use the "+" or "-" buttons
to set the numerical value of the discrimination.
b) If the discrimination value is set to 00, the detector will find all types of
metals.
c) To eliminate some categories from detection, set the numerical
discrimination value according to the digital object identification (see
METAL TABLE).
d) For example: the numerical range for category 5¢ is 11-20. To eliminate
this category, press the DISC button and then set, for example, 21 using
the "+" or "-" buttons. The "5¢" and "iron" category will not be searched.
e) If the DISC, "+" or "-" button is not pressed within 2 seconds, the unit will
go into standby mode.
f) To restore the eliminated target to the detector's search list, set the
discrimination value to 00.
