CAUTION!
Selecting the lower or middle value of the numerical range is
recommended. If the highest value is selected, there is a risk that the target will be
missed.
B. NOTCH mode (selective discrimination, indentation)
a) Press the MENU button, select NOTCH mode, then use the "+" or "-"
buttons to select the category of metal to be eliminated.
b) Each press of the "+" or "-" button moves to the next category. The cursor
over the selected metal type will flash. Press the NOTCH button to accept
the category selection. This will eliminate the selected target from the
search range. The detector will not find objects belonging to that
category.
c)
If no button is pressed within 2 seconds, the device will go into standby
mode.
d) To restore an eliminated target to the detector's search list, enter NOTCH
mode again, use the "+" or "-" buttons to select the target to be restored
to the search list and then accept the selection with the NOTCH button.
CAUTION!
If the NOTCH function is applied to all categories, the detector will
not find anything.
CAUTION!
If after pressing NOTCH you want to select another setting, i.e. DISC
or SENS, wait about 3 seconds until the cursor above the target disappears (until the
unit exits NOTCH mode).
3. Adjust the sensitivity. Press the MENU button, select the SENS category, then
press the "+" or "-" button to increase or decrease the sensitivity. The
sensitivity level will be displayed on the LCD. The unit defaults to a sensitivity
level of 6/8. To find objects deep in the ground, the sensitivity must be higher.
If the sensitivity is set to the highest limit, it is possible that the detector will
emit false signals.
PLEASE NOTE: if the SENS, "+", "-" button is not pressed within 2 seconds, the
unit will go into standby mode.
4. Place the detector on a wooden or plastic table, and then the user should
remove any watches, rings, or metal jewelry the user is wearing.
5. Position the probe so that the flat part of the probe is facing the ceiling.
