Safety instructions
WARNING
Read all safety warnings, instructions, illus-
trations and specifications provided with
this power tool.
Failure to follow all instructions listed below may re-
sult in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.
Save all warnings and instructions for future
reference.
Instructions:
• Make yourself familiar with all product parts and
correct operation of the product before starting
work.
• Ensure that the product can be stopped immediate-
ly in the event of an emergency. Improper use may
cause severe injuries.
• Children, persons with reduced physical, sensory or
mental capabilities or insufficient experience and
knowledge or persons who are not familiar with the
instructions must never be allowed to use the ma-
chine. Local regulations may specify an age restric-
tion for the user.
• Children must be supervised so that they do not
play with the product. Cleaning and maintenance
may not be carried out by children.
• The product must not be used at altitudes higher
than 2000 m.
• Read through the operating instructions carefully.
Familiarise yourself with the controls and proper op-
eration of the machine.
• Never allow children or persons who are not familiar
with these instructions to use the machine. Local
regulations may restrict the age of the user.
• Never operate the machine while people, especially
children, or animals are nearby.
Preparation:
• Personal protective equipment protects their health
and the health of others and ensures smooth opera-
tion of the product:
– Wear suitable work clothing such as sturdy foot-
wear with non-slip soles, robust long trousers,
gloves, safety goggles and hearing protection.
Wear them during the entire time the product is
in use. Do not use the product if barefoot or
wearing open sandals. Wear respiratory protec-
tion in order to protect yourself from dust.
– Do not wear any clothing or jewellery that could
be sucked into the air intake. Wear protective
headgear if you have long hair. Keep long hair
away from the suction openings.
• Watch out for persons, in particularly children, pets,
open windows, etc. The blown material can be flung
in their direction. Interrupt the work if they are in the
vicinity. Maintain a safety distance of 5 m around
yourself.
• Make yourself familiar with your environment and
be aware of any potential dangers which may be
missed when working.
• Carefully inspect the surface to be cleaned and re-
move all wires, stones, cans and other foreign ob-
jects.
• Use rakes and brooms to loosen up waste before
blowing.
• Use all parts of the blowpipe so that the airflow can
work close to the ground.
• Lightly dampen surfaces in dusty conditions.
• Do not work with a damaged, incomplete or modi-
fied product without the consent of the manufactur-
er. Before use, check the safety status of the prod-
uct, especially the switch.
• Only use the product if it is fully assembled.
• Never operate the product with faulty guards or cov-
ers, or without guards.
• Note that the operator or user is responsible for ac-
cidents or hazards to other people or their property.
• Avoid wearing loose-fitting clothing or clothing with
hanging strings or ties.
• Operate the machine in a recommended position
and only on a firm, level surface.
• Do not use the product on a paved surface or gravel
surface where material blown away could cause in-
juries.
• Always carry out a visual inspection before use to
check that the fasteners are secured, that the hous-
ing is undamaged and that the guards and shields
are in place. Replace worn or damaged compo-
nents in sets to maintain balance. Replace dam-
aged or illegible labelling.
• Keep your face and body away from the blower
opening.
