Note: By default, the GN 9120 is set to the DHSG interface.
Note that a special version of the GN 9120 is required.
To set up your GN 9120 to work with the AEI (or RHL) interface, complete the fol-
lowing:
1. Hold the headset in your hand with its on-line indicator facing you.
2. Press the volume + and volume – buttons on the headset simultaneously for 6
seconds, until the headset's on-line indicator fl ashes rapidly.
3. You are now in interface switching mode, and can set the GN 9120 to work with
your telephone's interface.
4. Using the volume + button to move right
and the volume – button to move left, select
the required interface.
The base unit's 3 indicators show which
interface the GN 9120 is in. See the illustra-
tion to determine the type of interface.
Note: If more than 15 seconds elapses
without pressing the volume + or volume
– buttons, the last selected interface will be
activated.
5. To exit the interface switching mode, press
the volume + and volume – buttons simul-
taneously for 6 seconds.
6. Only with the GN 1000 RHL: complete the setting up procedure according to its
user guide.

pressed for.

Clear dial tone adjustment
In order to hear a dial tone, you must set the correct dial tone setting.
Complete the following:
1. Put on your headset.
2. Lift the telephone's handset and listen for a dial tone in your head-
set.
3. If there is no dial tone or it is not clear, move the telephone termi-
nation switch (1e), at the rear of the base unit, along the A-G range
until the dial tone is clear. If the dial tone is just as clear in position
A as in position G, leave the switch in position A.
Transmit volume adjustment
Adjust the volume of transmitted sound according to personal preference. To adjust
the volume:
1. Make a telephone call and ask the person you are calling to assist you.
