2 --- Installation
2.1 -- Assembly of legs (Fig. 5)
The legs which are supplied separately from the condenser
unit, must be fixed to the unit using the screws provided.
2.2 -- Anchorage of unit
Fix the condenser to a solid base (the floor or, if this is not
possible, a concrete slab or raised brick bed) using the fix-
ing screws. This protects the joints from the wind and vibra-
tions.
2.3 -- Removal of safety cover
1) Unscrew the screws.
2) Remove the cover.
2.4 -- Refrigeration dimensions and connections
The units' circuit is pressurised
(2 bar dry air).
S For the overall dimensions, position and connection di-
mensions, refer to Fig. 6 ÷ Fig. 14 and relative tables.
S Weld the piping to the condenser.
2.5 -- Installation of fan operation controller
Fan operation is monitored so as to control the condensing
pressure. This is done using the on/off pressure switch (see
para. 2.5.1) or the Variex continuous fan speed controller
(see para. 2.5.2). These are supplied as kits to be installed
by the client.
2.5.1 -- Pressure switch (P) installation
(Fig. 14, Fig. 15, Fig. 16, Fig. 17)
1) Mount the pressure switch onto the condenser using two
screws.
2) Electrically connect the loose cable exiting the terminal
box to the terminals within the pressure switch.
3) Connect the capillary to the condenser tubing.
2.5.2 -- Variex (HPC) installation (Fig. 14, Fig. 15,
Fig. 16)
Consult the Variex kit manual also
3 --- Operation and maintenance
3.1 -- Operation
The condenser cools the entering freon gas and thereby
converts it into a liquid. The condensing pressure is con-
trolled by the fans, whose operation is controlled by the Fan
operation controller (see also CHAP . 4). The maximum wor-
king pressure of the coil is 24 bar.
The max. allowed outside temperature depends on the
coupled conditioning unit and reaches max. 46ûC.
For the installations at heights over 2000 m, contact our
Technical Support Department.
This unit cannot be used in explosive, acid or anyway ag-
gressive atmospheres, not compatible with the materials
used for its manufacturing.
3.2 -- Maintenance
ALWAYS DISCONNECT THE VOLTAGE SUPPLY BEFORE
CARRYING OUT MAINTENANCE WORK.
The instructions indicated below only cover maintenance of
the condenser itself. To guarantee optimum system opera-
tion the maintenance programme in the air conditioner
manual must also be carried out.
The Variex offers the following advantages:
S reduces noise, and thus allows a unit to be installed in
any location;
S stabilizes the refrigeration circuit and is therefore advan-
tageous for use with long pipe runs;
S allows operation down to approx. ---20 to ---25_C and can
thus be used as a partial alternative to the LOWTEX.
Install the Variex as follows (see Fig. 14, Fig. 15):
1) Mount the Variex onto the condenser using four screws.
2) Electrically connect the loose cable exiting the terminal
box to the terminals within the Variex.
3) Connect the capillary to the condenser tubing.
If the unit is a HBE (double circuit coil):
1) Mount the supplementary transducer onto the condens-
er.
2) Electrically connect the transducer to the Variex .
3) Connect the capillary to the condenser tubing.
2.6 -- Anti-- dust filter installation (Fig. 18, Fig. 19)
The unit is preset for the installation of anti ---dust filters.
2.7 -- Electrical connections (Tab. 2)
First ensure that all components are undamaged, all termi-
nal screws are tight and the supply voltage/frequency is
correct.
S As for units 400 V/3 Ph/60 Hz, the correct phase se-
quence must be checked.
The supply cable must be suitable for outdoors
and sized according to the regulations in force.
An automatic differential magnetothermal
switch must be supplied by the user, having
suitable sectioning features and a suitably --
sized line.
2.8 -- Lowtex (optional) installation
The LOWTEX allows system start---up in very cold ambient
conditions (below approx. ---25_C). For further information
on this option contact first the Technical Department.
The condensers with single ---phase electrical supply, 50/60
Hz, are equipped with thermal protection for the fans, seri-
ally connected to the power supply.
MAINTENANCE PROGRAMME --- monthly check
FAN(S)
Check that the fan/s rotate freely without any abnormal
noise.
Also check the current absorption.
COOLING COIL
Verify the state of the coil; if necessary clean it as follows:
in spring: clean using a vacuum cleaner.
S
in summer: this being the period of maximum use,
S
keep the coil as clean as possible, with a vacuum
cleaner and, if necessary, with water.
in winter: clean with water (with the air conditioner off).
S
If necessary (coil blocked --- HP intervention) remove
S
the fan and clean the coil from the top using a high
pressure water jet (this operation must be performed
by a technician to avoid damage).
