• Make sure that the eight bolts for the eDOC rotating
flange are secured with the proper torque, as described
in "Preparing for installation" chapter on page 8.
• Make sure that the two bolts for the eDOC external
sampling cover are properly secured.
• Did you install/replace the o-ring that seals the eDOC
enclosure?
• Verify that the 4 retaining screws of the eDOC enclosure
are properly secured.
• Verify that the green idle icon blinks, hydrogen and
moisture LEDs are not activated.
• Dispose of any collected oil according to your company
regulations and local laws.
Maintenance
The eDOC is maintenance-free, i.e., no regular maintenan-
ce is required. The fuse and varistor may require replace-
ment after an unusual voltage event.
Replacing the fuse and varistor
Use only the specified fuses: 2A/250V slow-blow (5×20
mm) and varistor (B72214P2271K101)
Simply replace the fuse and varistor. See picture below for
fuse/varistor location. To access the fuse/varistor, remove
the cover (see "Removing the cover" on page 9)
In case one of the internal sensors do not work (See visual
indication and alarms chapter, page 13), they can be changed
on site. (please contact COMEM service, customerservice@
it.comem.com)
Taking an oil sample
Oil samples are taken on a regular basis depending on
company policies to perform a complete analysis of the
oil. Such a laboratory analysis allows to complement the
hydrogen measurement done with the eDOC with the other
gases that may be present in the oil.
To take an oil sample, simply perform steps 1–7 from
chapter "Preparing for installation" page 8 , but using a
syringe instead of a bucket.
NOTE
Cleaning
• Perform a visual inspection of the product, check for oil
leaks, water or snow accumulation.
• Make sure that the enclosure is properly secured.
• Keep the eDOC clean to make reading the LEDs easier.
Wipe excess oil or water using a clean cloth.
Before sending the device to COMEM
Before sending the device to COMEM, in case of replace-
ment or for reparation, you must first:
• Make sure that the eDOC has been completely emptied
(see de-commissioning chapter on page 13). Wipe
excess oil with a clean cloth.
• Cover the NPT access port to prevent any contaminants
from entering the sensor.
