DESCALING
To ensure your Espresso Machine can operate efficiently the internal
piping must be clean so as not to affect the flavour of the Espresso.
You should clean away the mineral deposits left every 4 weeks - if
you live in a hard water area every 2 weeks. Or you can use bottled
water and none of this will be necessary!
1 Fill the tank with water and descaler to the MAX level (the scale
of water and descaler is 4:1 the detail refers to the instruction
of descaler.) Please use "household descaler" not vinegar to
descale.
2 Remove the porta-filter from the Espresso Machine.
3 Place a heat proof container on the drip tray to catch the water.
4 Press the POWER button, the button will start flashing while the
Espresso Machine is preheating.
5 Once the preheating has finished, both the POWER & BREWING
button will light up.
6 Press the Brewing Button, once water has been flowing for 20
seconds (approximately 100ml), press the Brewing Button, then
wait for 5 minutes for the first descaling cycle.
7 Empty the container and replace onto the Drip Tray.
8 Repeat the steps above for two more cycles (it is not necessary to
wait for 5 minutes on the second and third cycles).
9 Press the Steam button to descale the steam nozzle.
10 Place a cup under the steam wand and open the Steam knob
and steam for 2 minutes, then turn the Steam knob to the off
position.
11 Press the Power button to turn on the unit immediately, leave
the descaler in the unit for at least 15 minutes.
12 Empty the tank and refit with clean water. Restart the unit and
repeat the above steps at least 3 times - with clean water.
