About this document
This installation and operating manual is intended
for the qualified electrician and the user of the
product. This manual describes the switched and
interlocked wall socket DUOi in 16 A / 32 A in the
3-, 4- and 5-pin version.
Intended use
This product is a CEE wall socket according to IEC
60309-4 for industrial applications. The wall socket
is designed exclusively for fixed installation and
connection to the mains supply and can be used in-
doors and outdoors.
To ensure safe use of the wall socket, the following
conditions must be observed:
u Permissible ambient temperatures for opera-
tion: -25°C to +40°C.
u Please note the information on the name plate
of the product.
Safety instructions
u Read this manual in full before installing and us-
ing the product.
u Keep the manual for future reference.
u Installation, maintenance and final decommis-
sioning after use may only be carried out by a
qualified electrician. Electrotechnical laypersons
who carry out these activities themselves en-
danger their own lives and the lives of people
who use the product. There is a risk of serious
property damage and personal injury, e.g. by
fire and electric shock. Improper installation and
negligent action may render you personally li-
able.
u Laypersons must not open the product - danger
of electric shock.
u The product must not be used in explosive at-
mospheres - danger of fire and explosion.
u The product must not be modified technically.
u Before each use, check the product for extern-
ally identifiable defects, e.g. broken or missing
components.
u Do not use a damaged product.
u In the event of defects or faults, arrange for the
product to be checked, repaired or, if neces-
sary, replaced by a qualified electrician.
Installation
The applicable national regulations must be ob-
served when installing the product. A suitable sup-
ply line must be selected for the respective applica-
tion and location. The product may only be connec-
ted to suitable copper conductors with a suitable
conductor cross-section.
DANGER
Danger of electric shock
Only a qualified electrician may carry out the install-
ation.
u Switch off the mains voltage before installation.
u Follow the installation instructions in the visual
description of this manual.
u After installation, check the product for proper
function.
When using accessories that do no originate from
Mennekes, secure attachment, leak-tightness and
electrical isolation must be ensured.
