Configuring and testing a system supplied with an energizer
and handset
Some energizers need to be activated before using the handset for the first time. The
activation procedure also tests that the handset and energizer are working correctly
and for this reason, the procedure should be performed the first time a handset is used,
regardless of the energizer type.
To activate the energizer, use the handset to turn off the energizer within the first 10
minutes of operation. If necessary, follow step 1 to start the 10 minute period again.
Activation only needs to be done once.
1 Energizers with a selector switch - Connect the energizer to a power source.
Slide the energizer selector switch to Off. Wait for 15 seconds, then switch the
energizer to one of the On positions.
Other energizers - Disconnect the energizer from the mains/line power source.
Wait for 5 minutes, then reconnect energizer to the power source.
2 Test that the energizer is obeying commands from the handset (see

Note:
You must set the energizer and handset's address setting within four
minutes of the energizer being switched back on or reconnected to the power
source.
3 Press to switch on the handset.
4 Hold the handset within 150 mm (6") of the energizer and press
off the energizer. The energizer will stop pulsing (may take up to 2 seconds) and
only the green light on the right will continue flashing, indicating the energizer is
in Standby mode.
5 Press to switch off the handset.
6 Press and hold
7 Press repeatedly to scroll through the list of setup options until you get to
the Address (Ad) option.
8 Press repeatedly to scroll through the list until you get to the desired
address setting (a different address setting to the one you found in step 1).
