Disabling or enabling the backlight
To disable or enable the backlight (bL):

Press and hold

[bL] will now be flashing.

to store the setting.

to switch off the handset.

Replacing the battery

When you see
on the screen, the battery needs replacing.
To replace the battery:

Unscrew the case back.

Unclip the old battery, and replace with a new PP3, 9 V, alkaline battery.

Screw the case back into place, taking care not to trap the battery leads under
the screws or in the case assembly.
Caring for the handset
Do not leave the handset in direct sunlight, for instance on a vehicle dashboard.
Use only a damp cloth to clean the handset.
If the handset gets wet, wipe it dry and place it face down to allow any water to
run out of the speaker grill. The handset is water-resistant and should require no
further attention.
Troubleshooting
The energizer does not respond to commands from the handset
Check that your energizer is suitable for use with a handset (see your distributor
for advice).
Ensure that the Remote contact is in contact with the fence wire before pressing
or
from the display, as the energizer may send out a final pulse after receiving the
signal to deactivate. Similarly, allow two seconds for the energizer to send out
its first pulse after receiving the command to reactivate.
If the
symbol is displayed on the handset, replace the 9 V alkaline battery and
try again.

. Wait for two seconds for the ON or OFF message to disappear
to enter the handset's setup menu.
