01. GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS.

Thank you for purchasing an ELMA brand pro-
duct.
We hope that you will enjoy the product that you
have purchased for a long time.
Read this instruction manual closely before tur-
ning on the device, and keep it for later consul-
tation. The non-observation or compliance with
these instructions may result in an accident.
Before using the product for the first time, clean
all parts of the product which may come into con-
tact with food, proceeding as indicated in the
cleaning section.
• This appliance is exclusively for household use
and not for industrial use. It is dangerous to use
it for any purpose other than the one indicated.
• Children must be supervised to ensure they do
not play with the appliance.
• This appliance is not to be used by persons (or
children) whose physical, sensory or mental capa-
cities are impaired, or who have no experience
or knowledge, unless supervised or instructed in
the use of the appliance by a person responsible
for their safety.
• Do not make any modifications or repairs to
the appliance. In the event of any anomaly in the
cord or any other part of the appliance, do not
use it and take it to an authorised service centre.
• Do not use any parts or accessories not supplied
or recommended by ELMA.
• Before plugging the appliance into the mains,
check that the indicated voltage is the same as in
your home.
• Always unplug the appliance after use and be-
fore assembling or removing parts, or performing
any maintenance or cleaning operations. Also un-
plug it in the case of a power cut. The appliance
must be switched off before plugging it into or
unplugging it from the mains.
• Do not use the cord to hang up the appliance.
Always unplug the appliance by pulling on the
plug, and not the cord.
• Make sure the cord does not come into contact
with sharp edges or hot surfaces. Do not leave
the cord hanging over the edge of a table or
worktop, to prevent children from pulling it and
causing the appliance to fall.
Never immerse the appliance in water
or any other liquid, and do not put it in the dis-
hwasher.
• Do not leave the appliance plugged into the
mains while unattended.
• Always keep the air intakes and outlets clear.
• Check that the machine is in good condition,
paying special attention to the moving parts. If
you detect any anomaly, contact the distributor
where you acquired the product.
• Before connecting the machine to the power
supply check that the voltage indicated is the
same as that of your local network.
• Never leave the appliance unattended when it
is operating.
• While the machine is running, do not touch the
sealing bar to prevent burns and damage to the
machine.
• This machine can only be used to vacuum seal
foods. It is not approved for any use other than
those specified by ELMA.
• Place the vacuum sealer on a rigid, horizon-
tal surface, to avoid oscillations and vibrations
during operation. The machine must be installed
away from moisture, sources of heat and areas
with inflammable materials.
