7) MAINTENANCE

WARNING:
Remove the test leads from the instrument before battery or fuse
replacement or any repair.
A. Battery Replacement
The multimeter is supplied by 3 batteries: 01 battery of 9V and 02
batteries of 1.5V.
1. Select the rotary switch to (x1) OHMS position.
2. Connect the red test lead to + terminal and the black test lead to
-COM terminal. Touch the test leads together.
3. Check if the pointer indicate ZERO in the Ω scale (Resistance -
BLACK), if it is not, you must turn the Zero Adjustment button (0
Ω ADJ), until the pointer indicate ZERO in the scale. If it is not
possible, replace the 1.5V batteries, because they must be with
low charge. Make the same process using x100k scale, and if the
adjustment is not possible, replace the 9V battery.
4. To replace the batteries is necessary to remove the screw of rear
case and take out the rear case.
B. Fuse Replacement
If the current measurement is not possible, check if the fuse is
damaged. Remove the screw of rear case and take out the rear
case. Replace the fuse only for an other with the same specifica-
tions (500mA/250V, fast action), to keep the same protection to the
instrument.
