Safety instructions
Warning!
There is a risk of receiving an electric shock or serious injuries if the
following safety instructions are not strictly observed!
• Do NOT use the multimeter if it is damaged in any way.
• Before use, inspect the multimeter for cracks or broken-off plastic parts.
Thereby, inspect especially carefully the insulation in the area of the
connections.
• Additionally, inspect also the measuring leads
damaged insulation. Damaged measuring leads MUST be replaced
before using the appliance.
• Do not use the multimeter in localities subject to explosive gases, vapours
or dust.
• NEVER subject the connections to a voltage that exceeds the nominal
voltages detailed on the multimeter.
• Check the functional capability of the multimeter before use by measuring
a known voltage.
• Before taking an electrical measurement, switch off the power supply
to the object to be measured BEFORE connecting the multimeter to it.
Ensure that the multimeter is switched in series.
Warning!
Exercise especial caution when working with more than 30 V alternating
voltage eff., 42 V peak or 60 V direct voltage. Such voltages carry the
risk of an electric shock!
