Adjust Helmet Padding for Proper Fit
1. Remove dome pad from top of helmet. (D:14 and D:15)
2. Replace dome pad with two oblong pads creating a channel for the headband.

Microphone Placement

1. To maximize the performance of the speech microphone in noisy areas, position the
microphone very close to your mouth (less than 3 mm or 1/8 inch). (E:1 and E:2)
2. If your headset has a microphone arm stamped with "Talk", the user must ensure the
microphone is turned ¼ turn so that the "Talk" stamp is toward the lips. (E:3)

Switching the Headset On and Off
NOTE: If stored in extremely cold conditions you may need to allow the unit to warm up
before use.
Press and hold either Power/Volume (A:10) for three seconds to switch the headset on or off.
• A tone in the earphone confirms activity.
• The headset will automatically power off after two hours of inactivity (from the last
button press). Automatic power-off is indicated by two tones in quick succession.
Press the Volume button to reset the automatic power-off timer.
• Radio communication can be heard/transmitted when the environment listening
is switched off.
