3. Using the product:
We recommend to use your equipment as outlined in this section, in order to achieve optimum results and to
reduce the risk of accidents:
• The cutter blade D must be used together with the cutting guard B. The guards protect the operator against
thrown objects during operation (RGG model).
• The nylon spool I must be used together with the nylon spool guard H. The knife K is integrated with the
nylon spool guard and this will cut the line to the necessary length.
• The trimmer head is equipped with a bumper J helping to cut the nylon line while operating. Simply tap the
bumper on a fi rm surface and the spool will release fresh nylon line (Figure 8.4).
• Always remove the knife protection before use (Figure 8.5).
ATTENTION:
• Never hold the cutting head higher than your hip (Figure 8.6) ; the higher you hold the cutting head will
increase the risk of objects being thrown.
• For most effective grass trimming, ensure the machine is operation at full speed and then use slow shallow
sweeps of the line, ensuring that you do not overload the machine.
• For trimming, hold the nylon spool just above the ground at an angle of approximately 30° (Figure 8.7). Move
the product with slow and regular arc from left to right before moving it back to the starting position before
trimming the next area (Figure 8.8).
• Hold the product fi rmly so that it sits with a gap between the product and your right side. Stand upright, do
not lean forward and pay attention to posture. Keep both feet apart to help retain your balance.
• Release the throttle interlock immediately if the cutter head becomes blocked by a foreign body and discon-
nect from the electrical supply immediately to check for damage.
• Carefully plunge the blade from above when cutting long undergrowth.
• Trim longer grass in stages, always beginning from the top. Do not cut long grass in one cut. (Figure 8.9).
• Keep extension cord away from cutting parts of the product (electric models). Note in Figure 8.10 how to
properly attach the extension to the cable. It will provide greater security and durability to the equipment's
extension cord and plug. Fold the electrical extension cord A and pass through hole B; then, snap into
extension clip C.
• Ensure the air vents remain clear from obstruction at all times.
• If you slip or fall to the ground, release the throttle lever immediately, in order to avoid injuries.
• After fi nishing the operation, keep the cutter head close to ground level, release the switch and follow the
motor to come to a complete stand still. Place the grass trimmer on the ground, switch off and remove the
cable plug from the power supply (electric models) or remove the spark plug connector 9 (RGG 25 model).
