Important safety instructions
Danger from high voltage! Contact with unprotected
conductors and components can result in a fatal electric
shock or severe burns. Before starting work on the device,
interrupt the power supply and secure against restart. Do
not insert foreign objects into the device. Keep away from
fire.
The device does not have an enclosed housing. The final
product must therefore be protected against fire spread.
For use in a controlled environment. Refer to the manual
for environmental conditions.
The product may cause radio interference in a residential,
business or small industrial environment. The user may
need to take appropriate measures to reduce the interfe-
rence.
Connect the device to mains in accordance with local
regulations and standards.
Do not cover the device! Maintain distance to other units to
ensure sufficient convection cooling is provided, otherwise
the device may get overheated. Keep a distance of 30 mm
above and below the device as well as a lateral distance of
20 mm to other units.
Risk of burns! Note that the enclosure of the device can
become very hot depending on the ambient temperature
and load of power supply. The service life of the device is
shortened once it is operated for a longer period of time in
an overheated state.
The stress level indicator signals inadequate cooling.
Installation
The power supply unit must be installed in an enclosure or
cabinet at the final installation. The enclosure or cabinet
must comply with EN60079-0 or EN60079-15, and the
installation in Canada shall be in accordance with the
Canadian Electrical Code, Part I.

Danger for electric arcing and electric shock.
► Switch off the device and interrupt the power supply.
► Do not modify the installation on the primary or
secondary side while the device is operating!
► Never touch unprotected conductors and
components directly.
When connecting, observe the following instructions:
– Data for permissible loads, see section Technical data.
– Use only commercial cables suitable for the specified
current and voltage ratings.
– Use conductors with insulation rated for at least 90°C.
– Base the conductor ampacity on a maximum
termination temperature of ambient +10°C. The
installer to consider the maximum termination
temperature rating at both ends of the conductor and
base the ampacity on the lower value.
– For flexible cables, make sure that all strands are
secured in the terminal.
– Make sure the polarity at the output is correct.
– Always switch the power off before connecting or
disconnecting the connectors.
– If necessary, a manually controlled element for isolating
the mains power supply must be used.
– Device and power cables must be fused correctly.
– The unsecured ground conductor must be connected
to GND (insulation class 1).
– The secondary side is not grounded. If necessary, the
plus or minus terminal can be grounded.
– The input voltage must be connected in accordance
with IEC 60364 and EN 50178.
