During prolonged periods of use at a low stroke rate, the
power tool may heat up significantly. Remove the saw blades
and cool down the power tool by running it for approx.
3 minutes at maximum stroke rate.
Working Advice
Pull the plug out of the socket before carrying out any
u
work on the power tool.
Switch the power tool off immediately if the saw blade
u
becomes blocked.
When sawing lightweight materials, take into account
u
the statutory provisions and recommendations of the
material manufacturers.
Before sawing into wood, chipboard, building materials,
etc., check for and remove any foreign objects such as nails,
screws, etc.
Ensure that the material is securely clamped. Do not
u
support the workpiece using your hands or feet. Do
not touch any objects or the floor with the saw while it
is running. There is a risk of kickback.
Only remove the saw blade guard (11) for sawing.
Hold the power tool securely when it is switched on and po-
sitioned on the workpiece.
If the saw blades become jammed, switch off the machine
immediately. Widen the sawing cut somewhat with a suitable
tool and pull out the power tool.
Switch the power tool off after completing operation.
Do not use the blade body (1) for unintended purposes such
as prying away sawn-off pieces of wood.
Plunge cutting (see figure K)
Plunge cuts may only be applied to soft materials,
u
such as softwood, gypsum board, etc.
Place the machine with the tip of the blade body facing
against the workpiece and switch on. Carefully plunge the
moving body of the saw into the workpiece until it is sawn
through.
Hold the power tool to the workpiece at an angle and con-
tinue to saw alongside the cutting line.
Maintenance and Service
Maintenance and Cleaning
Pull the plug out of the socket before carrying out any
u
work on the power tool.
To ensure safe and efficient operation, always keep
u
the power tool and the ventilation slots clean.
In order to avoid safety hazards, if the power supply cord
needs to be replaced, this must be done by Bosch or by an
after-sales service centre that is authorised to repair Bosch
power tools.
Clean the saw blade body (1), the blade guide (19) and the
blades (12) after finishing the work.
The saw blades (12) and the saw blade guide (19) must not
be lubricated, as this would impair dust extraction.
Bosch Power Tools
If the dust outlet becomes blocked, switch off the power
tool, disconnect the dust extraction system and remove the
dust and chips.
