Using the acupuncture function

Switching on the unit
Ensure that the device is switched
off. Then move the [0] switch to the
A position and switch the device
back on again.
The device is switched on by pressing the
On/off button [10] on the control panel.
The signal for search mode sounds. The
device is now in search mode.
Operating states
The unit has two different operating states:
x Search
x Stimulation
First you locate the acupuncture point us-
ing search mode, then the pulses are de-
livered in stimulation mode. Acupuncture
therapy should take place at the known
acupuncture points only. For additional in-
formation, refer to specialised literature on
the subject.
Search mode:
Search mode is used to locate acupunc-
ture points with the help of an audible sig-
nal. The resistance of the skin is deter-
mined using a very weak current, and then
converted into audible signals. Because
the stimulation points are identified by a
low skin resistance, they can be detected
in this manner with precision.
x Acupuncture points are indicated by a
high-pitched audible signal that be-
comes lower as soon as the unit has
passed the point. The higher-pitched
the sound, the closer the tip is to an
acupuncture point.
x The contact plate [4] on the handle
must remain in permanent contact with
the skin so that the current flow is not
interrupted.
x Guide the acupuncture tip [1] of the unit
over the area of the body in which the
desired acupuncture point is located.
(Refer to the "Acupuncture points" an-
nex.)
x The tip should be moved across the
skin with equal pressure. The measur-
ing current is not noticeable in search
mode.
To improve the search function and
the stimulation, the skin can be
moistened.
Treating another person:
If you carry out the treatment on
another person, note that you must
use the palm of your free hand to
create an area of contact with the
person being treated. The contact
must be in place for the entire du-
ration of the stimulation to close the
electrical circuit.
