Special safety instructions

It is essential to read and understand the general safety instructions in the Safety appendix
(Page 21 and following)!
The plug socket must be in accordance with VDE (Association of German Electrotechnical Engineers)
regulations, and must be fitted with a 10-amp fuse!
The user must have received instructions on how to use and handle the soft solder-ing set.
The user must wear suitable working clothing.
After soldering has been completed, the soldering gun must be laid down in such a manner that no
flammable objects can ignite and no injuries can be sustained by any persons.
Description
The ROTHERM 2000 complies with the new EU regulations and has been award-ed the Tested Safety quality
mark by the German Technical Surveyance Association.
This soldering set is particularly well suited for performing repair and modifica-tion work in rooms or
dwellings where a fire hazard exists.
ROTHERM 2000 is designed for easy, safe and timesaving soft soldering without using a tamper.
Operating instructions
The flat or stick electrodes should be attached and all wires correctly laid before connecting the set to the
power supply. A red control LED on the main unit indicates operational readiness. Prior to soldering, the
work piece should be lightly greased with the soft solder fluxing agent, Art. No. 4.5265 or the soldering
grease, Art. No. 53.0300. When the pipe is in the correct fitting, the fitting should be clamped between the
two electrodes and heated by activating the pneumatic circuit.
The heating of the fittings depends on the material used and the wall thickness. The user can control the
soldering temperature better by simultaneously applying the filler wire.
When the solder begins to melt, capillarity causes the solder groove to fill up with soft solder.
When the soldering gun is laid aside, attention should be paid to ensure that objects in the immediate
working vicinity are protected from direct contact with it.
