SPARK PLUG MAINTENANCE
To ensure normal operation of the engine, a plug gap of
0.6 - 0.7 mm must be maintained and be free from
car- bon deposits.
The following steps may only be carried out when the
engine is off:
1. Carefully remove the spark plug terminal.
Do not pull on the cable but directly on the terminal
2. Use the included spark plug wrench, to unscrew the
spark plug (1)
3. Check the spark plug for visible damage and
electrode erosion.
Remove carbon deposits
4. Check the gap using a thickness gauge and bend the
electrode to the correct spacing of 0.6 to 0.7 mm
5. Check the washer on the spark plug (1) and screw in
the spark plug (1) with a torque of 12-15 Nm
6. Reattach the distributor cap to the spark plug (1)
Remove the problem that lead to sparking plug damage:
● Fill the tool with fresh fuel, with a mixing ration of 40 : 1 (gasoline : oil)
● Clean the air filter
● Operate tool at higher rotational speed
Only use licensed sparking plugs to avoid fire hazard and risk of injury.
Make sure that the sparking plug connector has the right size and fits into the connecting
thread.
Make sure the spark plug connector is correctly located on the connection bolt.
Improper installation can cause sparking and fire hazard in relation with escaping fumes.
