Designation
J1
start/pulse input (OPEN/STOP/CLOSE)
J2
safety light barrier (2 or 4 wires)
J3
edge safety device OSE / 8K2 / DW
slack rope, locking mechanism
J4
aerial
J5
plug-on radio receiver

X3
floating relay contact – door status relay
X4
24 V DC, max. 150 mA
4
Power supply
The control is connected in accordance with 4a with a 16-
A CEE plug via a cable which is approx. 1 m long
!
The control is connected with the mains
in accordance with the voltage available on site.
If the power cable of this device gets damaged, it needs
to be replaced by a special connecting cable that is
available from the manufacturer or its service
department.
5
Motor supply cable
The supply cable for the motor and for the digital end
switch of the DES will be provided and need to be
plugged in only.
6
Connection for the edge safety device
An edge safety device must be connected for pulse
operations CLOSE; the relevant selection can be made
in menu 35.
6a optical edge safety device OSE (value = 0),
electrical edge safety device 8K2 with a connecting
resistance of 8.2 KOhm (value = 1)
6b shockwave strip & switch with a loop resistance of
8.2 KOhm (value = 2)
7
Connection for the light barrier
A light barrier can be set accordingly in menu 36.
7a
2-wire light barrier
7b
4-wire light barrier with testing
7c
reflection light barrier
When the light barrier "installed in the frame" has been
selected in the relevant menu, the control will cause a
teach-in drive during the next run towards CLOSE for the
purpose of recognizing the position. This teach-in drive
will be signaled with E10 in the display.
This closing drive must not be disturbed as
otherwise an incorrect position could be
recorded. The gate will not reverse during
this teach-in drive.
8
Connection for the pulse generator
8a
terminal J1 for external 3-button keys. Remove
jumper J1.1/2.
8b
terminal J1 for open/close key switch
8c/8d
operating sequence OPEN-STOP-CLOSE; set
value in menu 51
2
The gate must be visible from
the place of operation.
Dead-man operation with key switch only
for access by persons not specifically instructed.
9
Remote radio control
Plug the receiver module (option) onto J and teach-
in the hand-held transmitter in menus 60 & 62.
10
Relay output
Changeover contact with a maximum load of 250 V
AC/2 A or 24 V DC/1 A. Maximum load of 150 mA at
the 24-V output of X4. Select the relay function in
menu 45.

Programming the control

The programming is menu-controlled. Set the gate in
accordance with the programming overview. The
entire scope of the menu is shown on the following
page.
Setting the gate end positions (menus 30 & 31)
!
Depending on the drive, the gate must be
spring-adjusted.
The upper and lower end positions must be set
immediately one after the other. The door end
positions will be approached in the dead-man mode.
Let the button go before reaching the required end
position. Fine adjustment in menu 33/34.
No closing edge or light barrier monitoring
activated while the door is moving
Opening force limitation (menu 48)
DThe opening drives will be compared with the
previous one. When the set value is exceeded, the
gate will stop and F33 be displayed.
Following that, the gate can only be closed in the
!
dead-man mode Eliminate the cause of the
.
excess force and close the gate thereafter.
Motor 9.24/5.24: Input value = U x weight/20 kg
Motor
14
.15: Input value = U x weight/15 kg
U = shaft rotations for opening the door completely
Weight = additional weight at the gate
Example:
Motor 9.24, U = 8 revolutions to open the door
Cut-off recommended at 60 kg.
Input value
= 8 x 60 kg / 20 kg =
The quick release requires re-setting,
otherwise spring fracture safeguards
must be connected.
The results should be treated as approximate values.
The exact determination requires a force measuring
run.
It is necessary to make this setting
at gates which need a force limit to
satisfy the requirements of EN standard
12453-2000, sub-section 5.2.2.
The force limit must be set in such a
way that moving people with the door is
prevented.
Control for the force limit function
Apply 20 kg after the force learning
cycle;
the drive must switch off.
Power-on time (menu 49)
The power-on time as set in the system will prevent
the drive motor from getting overheated, thus
avoiding damage.
When using motor 5.24 with plastic drive,
!
the power-on time must be set on
1 (3) or on 2 (AC, 1).
Teaching-in the hand-held radio transmitter
Please note that each hand-held transmitter must be
5
taught-in individually. You can teach-in 20 KeeLoq
radio codes. The following functions can be taught-in:
KeeLoq, 12 bit multibit; the first code will determine
the type.
Start pulse (menu 60)
Go to the menu and press the hand-held transmitter's
button for the start function. As soon as the code has
been taught in, the dot display will flash 5 times.
Light function (menu 62)
Go to the menu and press the hand-held transmitter's
button for the light function. As soon as the code has
been taught in, the dot display will flash 5 times.
Deleting radio codes (menu 63)
Keep the oval button pressed for 5 sec to delete all
taught-in codes in the menu.
