cable away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving appliance parts.
Damaged or tangled cables heighten the risk of an electric shock.
e. When working with an electric power tool outdoors, use only
extension cables that are suitable for exterior areas. The use of an
exterior area suitable extension cable minimizes the risk of an electric shock.
f. If operation of the electric power tool in damp surroundings
is unavoidable, use a surge protector. The application of a surge
protector reduces the risk of an electric shock.
3. Safety of People
a. Be vigilant, pay attention to what you are doing and approach
your work with an electric power tool with caution. Do not use
any electric power tool if you are tired or under the influence of
drugs, alcohol or medication. One moment of inattention when using
an electric power tool can lead to serious injuries.
b. Wear personal protective equipment and always a pair of safety
goggles. The wearing of personal protective equipment, such as a dust
mask, non-slip safety shoes, hard hat or ear protection, depending on
the use of the electric power tool, minimizes the risk of injuries.
c. Avoid unintended activation. Make sure that the electric power
tool is switched off, before you connect it to the power supply and/
or connect the battery, lift it up or carry it. If you have a finger placed
on the switch when carrying the electric power tool or the appliance is
switched on and plugged into the power supply, this can lead to accidents.
d. Remove adjusting tools or spanners before switching the electric
power tool on. A tool or spanner if inside a rotating appliance part can
lead to injuries.
e. Avoid an abnormal posture. Ensure a safe footing and maintain
your balance at all times. In this way you will be able to control the
electric power tool better in unexpected situations.
f. Wear suitable clothing. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery.
Keep hair, clothing and gloves away from moving parts. Loose
clothing, jewellery or long hair can become caught up in moving parts.
g. If dust collection devices can be set up, ensure they are connected
and used correctly. Use of a dust collection device can reduce hazards
caused by dust.
