Cut the spindle extension so that it extends ¾" outside

the surface of the finished wall.
Install the escutcheon.

Lightly lubricate the o-ring on the nut using white
plumbers' grease.
Install the nut.
Place a small quantity of waterproof sealant at the
grout joints.
Do not overtighten the nut.
