protector from moving.

Attaching the communication module
Insert the communication module into the COM adaptor. It
must snap into place.

During use

NOTICE
i
i
The helmets do not feature materials known to cause
allergic reactions. Despite this, there may be isolated
cases of persons with severe allergies experiencing
such a reaction.
The visors may transfer physical impacts to corrective
glasses and damage them.
Full protection is achieved only when the face
protector is locked in the lowest position.
Move both eye protector levers evenly and carefully when
swinging the eye protector or spectacles in front of the
eyes.
CAUTION
!
Risk of injury!
Jerky contact of the eye protector or spectacles with
the nose may lead to injuries.
Move eye protector levers carefully.

After use

Check serviceability as follows:
Check helmet shell, internal helmet components, chin strap
and accessory. Replace damaged parts.
Check visors. In case of visible damages or vision
impairments (e. g. scratches, discolouring or dirt), the
visors should be replaced.
Check painted surface of the fire helmet for damage.
The self-extinguishing special paint system is an important
factor for the thermal performance of the fire helmet. If the
paint is damaged, it may shorten the service life of the
helmet. Superficial paint damage or small surface
scratches do not reduce the protective effect. These can be
repaired with touch up paint.
Fire helmets that may not be reused or repaired are to be
rendered unusable for safety reasons.
Trained personnel or Dräger may check whether the fire
helmet is reusable with damage or should be repaired.

CAUTION
!
Insufficient protective effect after impact occurrence!
If the fire helmet absorbs the energy of an impact, it
may become damaged or unfit for use.
Even if damage is not immediately visible, the fire
helmet must be replaced after a severe impact or
shock. Damaged helmets or those exposed to impact
may not be used. This applies even if no external
damage is visible.

manual
5.2

Cleaning and disinfecting

CAUTION
!
Risk of damage to the helmet or visor!
Do not use any solvents (e. g. acetone, alcohol) or
cleaning agents containing abrasive particles for
cleaning and disinfecting. Only use the prescribed
process and use the cleaning and disinfection agents
given. Other agents and methods, dosages and
contact times may damage the product.
Never disinfect coated visors as the disinfectant will
destroy the coating.
Do not clean coated visors automatically. This may
damage the coating.
For information on suitable cleaning products and
disinfectants and their specifications, see document
9100081 at www.draeger.com/IFU.
5.2.1
Helmets with visors without coating
1. Remove attached components (e. g. neck protection,
lamp) from fire helmet and clean separately.
2. Prepare a cleaning solution of water and detergent.
Alternatively, lukewarm soapy water can be used.
3. Clean helmet shell and visors using a soft cloth and
