FOLLOW THESE STEPS WHEN BATTERY IS INSTALLED IN VEHICLE
6.1
Position the AC and DC cables to reduce the risk of damage by the hood, door and
moving or hot engine parts. NOTE: If it is necessary to close the hood during the
charging process, ensure that the hood does not touch the live part of the battery
connector or cut the insulation of the cables.
6.2
Stay clear of fan blades, belts, pulleys and other parts that can cause injury.
6.3
When disconnecting the charger, turn the switch to off, disconnect the AC cord and then
disconnect the charger from the battery while as far away from the battery as practical.
6.4
Do not face the battery when making the final connection.

7.
GROUNDING AND AC POWER CORD CONNECTIONS
7.1
This battery charger is for use on a nominal 120-volt circuit and
has a grounded plug that looks like the plug illustrated. The charger
must be grounded to reduce the risk of electric shock. The plug must
be plugged into an outlet that is properly installed and grounded in
accordance with all local codes and ordinances. The plug pins must
fit the receptacle (outlet). Do not use with an ungrounded system.

Recommended minimum AWG size for extension cord:

25 feet (7.62 meters) long or less - use a 12 gauge (AWG) [3.31 mm

Over 25 feet to 50 feet (7.62 to 15.24 meters) long - use a 10 gauge (AWG)
[5.26 mm

Over 50 feet (15.24 meters) long - not recommended.
