Electrical system for towing hitch

Installing the electrical kit

1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. If necessary, remove the following coverings and panels:
•
In the luggage trunk
Covering of luggage trunk bottom
-
Covering of the loading edge
-
Right-hand and left-hand covering of the tail lights
-
Right-hand and left-hand side spar covering
-
•
From the rear end plate
Covering for the cable leadthrough on the left-hand side

3. Starting in the luggage trunk, lead the cable end through the vehicle's cable leadthrough on
the left side to the outside up to the socket holder plate (Fig. 1/7).
4. Insert the rubber grommet into the cable leadthrough (Fig. 1/6).

Installing the socket

5. Fit the socket gasket and connect the cable harness to the socket housing in accordance with
the pin assignment plan (Fig. 1/7) and push the rubber grommet against the socket.
6. Screw the socket onto the holding plate (Fig. 1/7) using the supplied screws and nuts.

Connecting the tail lights

7. Disconnect the plug-in connector under the left tail light (Fig. 1/6) and connect it to the
matching counterparts on the cable harness. Make sure that the plugs lock firmly into place.
8. Lay the cable end with the two 6-pin plugs along the rear end plate to the right-hand tail light
(Fig. 1/9).
9. Disconnect the plug-in connector under the right tail light (Fig. 1/9) and connect to the
matching counterparts on the cable harness. Make sure that the plugs lock firmly into place.
