Line Operation – Programmable Line
The beginning and end points of the laser line can be
set to any position. For this purpose, first select point
operation. Then press the button for line operation 20
and hold depressed, turn the rotation head 13 one
time from the beginning point to the end point of the
desire line and then release the button 20.
The aperture angle of the laser line can be increased
or decreased with the aid of the remote control 29 (ac-
cessory).
As a result of inertia, the laser can swing some-
what beyond the end points of the line.
Rotation operation
To change to rotation operation, press the button 21.
The unit starts with the highest rotational speed. Re-
peated pressing of the button 21 decreases the speed
in four steps until it comes to a standstill (point opera-
tion).
When working with the receiver 28, the highest rota-
tional speed is recommended.
For better visibility of the laser beam when working
without a receiver, reduce the rotational speed or use
the laser viewing glasses 23.

Automatic Levelling

Automatic Levelling
After switching on, the unit detects by itself if it is in the
horizontal or vertical position. To change between the
horizontal and vertical positions, switch off the unit,
reposition and switch the unit on again.
After switching on, the unit checks the horizontal or
vertical position and compensates automatically for in-
clinations within the self-levelling range of approx. 8 %
(±0.8 m/10 m).
If the unit is inclined by more than 8 % after switching
on or after a change of position, the levelling is no long-
er possible. In this case and if the kick safety feature
has not been activated (see Kick Sensor), a warning
tone sounds, the rotor is stopped, the laser beam is
switched off and the indicators "auto" 15 as well as
"man" 16 blink once per second. Then switch off the
unit, realign and switch on again.

If the unit is levelled, it continuously checks the hori-
zontal or vertical position. Position changes of the unit
lead to the following reactions:
Small Position Changes
Small position changes are compensated within
5 seconds. The selected mode of operation is not in-
terrupted. Earth tremors at the construction site or
wind influences are thereby automatically compensat-
ed.
Large Position Changes
If the unit cannot level itself within 5 seconds, the rotor
is stopped during the levelling process to prevent erro-
neous measurement and the laser beam and the
"auto" indicator 15 blink once per second.
Kick Sensor
The unit is equipped with a kick safety feature that, for
large position changes (>30 mm/10 m), prevents the
levelling at a changed height and thereby height errors.
The kick safety feature is automatically switched on
30 s after each button pressing or levelling process.
When the kick safety feature is activated, the "auto"
indicator 15 blinks every 4 seconds.
For a position change of more than 30 mm at 10 m,
the unit first attempts to compensate for it. Then a
warning tone sounds, the rotor is stopped, the laser
switches off and the "man" indicator 16 blinks twice
per second. In this case, switch the unit off and on
again. Then check the height and correct as neces-
sary.
Switching Off the Automatic Levelling
To operate the unit in an inclined position (see Marking
Inclines), the automatic levelling must be switched off.
This is possible only via the remote control 29 (acces-
sory). With the automatic levelling switched off, the
"man" indicator 16 blinks once per second.
Position changes of the unit with the automatic
levelling switched off are not detected.
Single Axis Inclined Operation
If the unit is operated in the horizontal position, the au-
tomatic levelling for the Y-axis can be switched off with
the aid of the remote control 29 (accessory). In the X-
axis, the unit continues to be automatically levelled.
The X-axis of the unit is a line connecting the two
plumb notches 1 on the bottom edge of the housing,
the Y-axis runs through the two plumb notches 5.
The single axis inclined operation can be switched on
only via the remote control 29 (accessory). For single
axis inclined operation, the two indicators "auto" 15
and "man" 16 blink once per second.
