batteries can behave unpre-
dictably and lead to fire, ex-
plosion or a risk of injury.
■
Do not expose a re-
chargeable battery to fire or
high temperatures. Fire or
temperatures over 130 °C can
cause an explosion.
■
Comply with all of the in-
structions for charging, and
never charge the re-
chargeable battery or the
rechargeable battery-oper-
ated tool outside of the tem-
perature range specified in
the operating instructions.
Incorrect charging or charging
outside of the permissible
temperature range can des-
troy the rechargeable battery
and increase the risk of fire.

3.8 Safety instructions for
hedge trimmers (IEC
60745-2-15)
■
Keep all body parts away
from the cutting blade. Do
not attempt to remove cut
material or hold onto mater-
ial to be cut when the blade
is operating. Switch off the
appliance before you re-
move trapped cut material.
A moment's inattentiveness
when using the hedge trimmer
can result in serious injuries.
■
Carry the hedge trimmer us-
ing the handle, and make
sure the blade is switched
off. Always put on the pro-
tective cover when trans-
porting or storing the hedge
trimmer. Careful handling of
the appliance reduces the risk
of injury from the blade.
■
Hold the power tool by insu-
lated gripping surfaces
only, because the cutting
blade may contact con-
cealed electrical cables or
its own cable. Contact
between the cutting blade and
a live cable can result in elec-
trical current flowing through
metal parts of the appliance,
leading to an electric shock.
