6 - MAINTENANCE
6.1 Routine maintenance
ATTENTION!
•
All the maintenance operations which are not described in this manual have to be performed in a
Campagnola Srl Service Point.
•
The routine maintenance operations can be carried out by operators.
ATTENTION!
All the maintenance operations have to be carried out keeping the inertial chain brake (12) engaged (only for the tool
version without connection to an extension pole).
6.1.1 General
The routine maintenance operations may be carried out by the operators.
Before any maintenance operation:
•
Put the ON/OFF switch (4) in OFF position.
•
Disconnect the power supply cable (11).
•
Put safety gloves on.
6.1.2 Chain tension adjustment
Perform the following operations:
•
Loosen the nut (13).
•
Turn the screw (16) clockwise to stretch the chain, anti-clockwise to loose it.
•
Fix the nut (13).
6.1.3 Replacing the chain (15)
Perform the following operations:
•
Unscrew the nut (13) and the screws which fix the front protection (2).
•
Loosen the chain bar (14) by unscrewing the screw (16) anti-clockwise.
•
Remove the bar (14) with the chain (15) and replace it taking care of the correct position of the cutting teeth (see picture
L).
•
Assemble the bar (14) with the new chain, then the protection (2) and screw the nut (13) partially.
•
Stretch the chain (15) by screwing the adjusting screw (16) clockwise.
•
The chain (15) has to be adjusted so that it is well stretched and can be easily moved by hand (picture M).
•
When the right tension has been reached, fix the nut (13) and screw the two fixing screws of the front protection (2).
6.1.4 Replacing the cutting bar
•
Remove the screws locking the front guard (2).
•
Remove the nut (13) and the front protection (2).
•
Loosen the chain bar (14) unscrewing the screw (16) anti-clockwise.
•
Disassemble the bar (14) and the chain (15) and replace it.
•
Insert the bar (14) into the chain tensioning pin (18), then insert the washer into the bar pin (18) and screw the nut (13)
without locking it.
•
Assemble the chain (15) onto the bar (14) drive and the sprocket. Take care of the chain (15) rotation direction and of the
correct cutting teeth assembly and position.
•
Stretch the cutting bar (14) screwing the adjusting screw (16) clockwise.
•
The chain (15) has to be adjusted so that it is well stretched and can be easily moved by hand (picture M).
•
When the right tension has been reached, lock the nut (13) and screw the two fixing screws of the front protection (2).
6.1.5 Lubricating the cutting bar
The oil flow on the chain has been pre-set by the manufacturer.
It is automatic and does not need any adjustments.
Always check the oil level in the reservoir (22). The lubrication is carried out automatically.
Use Campagnola Pakelo 1242 CHAIN FLU PUMA oil to lubricate the chain. The oil is to be added by unscrewing the tap (9)
on the chain pruner housing cover.
