5 Before use

5.1 Use the appliance only at a suitable location.
Use the appliance only in a dry environment.
The location at which the appliance is used should be clean and cool but
protected from frost.
The appliance must be able to emit heat while in operation. The ventilation
slots must therefore remain unobstructed.
Accordingly, remove the charger from the toolbox.
Do not operate the charger inside a closed container.
Use the C4/36­DC charger only in a clean, well-ventilated area of the
vehicle where it is shaded from the sun.

5.2 Switching the appliance on

Plug the supply cord into the power outlet.
NOTE
The green LED lights after the appliance has been plugged in.
5.3 Switching on the C4/36­DC charger
NOTE
When charging a Hilti battery with the C4/36-DC charger, the motor vehicle's
starter battery may become discharged to such an extent that it no longer
functions (i.e. the vehicle won't start).
