6.1
Maintenance intervals
During commissioning:
1. Check calibration, page 12.
2. Check signal transmission to controller and triggering
of alarms.
At regular intervals,
the following must be defined by the person responsible for
the gas alarm system:

At regular intervals the following must be defined for the
sensor by the person responsible for the gas alarm system:
Perform calibration, page 12.
The regular calibration interval depends on the actual
sensor and the usage conditions.
Sensor-specific calibration data, see sensor Instructions
for Use.
Every 6 months:
Inspection by trained service personnel.
The inspection intervals must be established in each
individual case and shortened if necessary, depending on
technical safety considerations, engineering conditions,
and the technical requirements of the equipment.
Contact DrägerService if you wish to take out a service
contract or have any repairs carried out.
As required:
Change the sensor, page 14.
6.2
Calibrating the device
The sensor must be warmed-up before calibration. Warm-
up time: see sensor data sheet.
If an oxygen sensor is installed, the zero-point can only be
checked. The zero-point of an oxygen sensor cannot be
calibrated.
The transmitter can be calibrated on site by the user.
For critical applications: Define the calibration interval in
conformity with 60079-29-2
regulations.

Follow the sequence.
1. Check the zero-point first and if it requires correction check
the sensitivity immediately afterwards and adjust if necessary.
Caution: Never calibrate the sensitivity before the zero-point.

CAUTION

Never inhale the test gas. Health hazard! Observe
the hazards arising from the test gas, the hazard
information and the safety advice.

information.

it counterclockwise (approx.

The Dräger Polytron 2000 does not support saving
calibration data in the sensor memory.
Measurement and maintenance mode
Maintenance switch (1) with two positions.
Measuring mode position (2)
(switch to left) – outputs the
measured values at the
analog output.
Maintenance position (3)
(switch to right) – outputs a
maintenance signal (3.4 mA
±0.2 mA constant) at the
analog output and prevents
alarms from being triggered.
Jumper
Jumper J1 (4) has two possible positions.
The left position (5) or
complete removal of jumper
J1
to
use
the
factory
calibration of the sensor.
The right position (6) for
calibration with calibration
gas and the potentiometers
for zero-point and sensitivity.
