Warning! The spotlight must be connected only to batteries
with a nominal output voltage of 12 volts.
The spotlight comes equipped with a 12 Vdc accessory
plug (7) and/or battery clamps (8) for connection to a dc
power source.
Always attach the connector end of the 12 Vdc battery clamp
cable (8) to the 12 Vdc power lead (9) before attaching the
battery clamps (8) onto the battery terminals.
Connecting to a power source using the 12 Vdc
accessory plug (7)
Make sure the spotlight is turned off, the trigger lock (3)
is in the down position (locked) and that no flammable
fumes are present in the area.
Connect the spotlight to the power source by inserting
the 12 Vdc accessory plug (7) firmly into the accessory
outlet of a vehicle or other dc power source.
Move the trigger lock (3) up to the unlocked position.
Press the On/Off trigger switch (5) to turn the spotlight
on.
To lock the trigger switch (5) in the on position, press the
trigger switch (5) and push the trigger lock (3) down.
To shut the spotlight off, switch to the unlocked position
and press the trigger.
Connecting to a power source using the cables
Use the cables and connect the appliance directly to the
12 Volt power source as follows:
Warning! Explosive gas may be vented from batteries when
charging and under extreme conditions battery leakage may
occur. Ensure the area is well ventilated when connecting
the spotlight to a battery.
Never allow the connector end of the 12 Vdc battery
clamp cable (8) to touch the battery terminals. This
could cause damage to the appliance and/or create a
sparking/explosion hazard.
Check the polarity of the battery terminals before
connecting the spotlight.
Make sure the spotlight is turned off, the trigger lock (3)
is in the down position (locked) and that no flammable
fumes are present in the area.
Connect the red battery clamp (8) to the positive
terminal of the battery.
Connect the black battery clamp (8) to the negative
terminal of the battery.
Make sure that all connections between the battery
clamps (8) and the battery terminals are secure.
Move the trigger lock (3) up to the unlocked position.
Press the On/Off trigger switch (5) to turn the spotlight
on.
To lock the trigger switch (5) in the on position, press the
trigger switch (5) and push the trigger lock (3) down.
To shut the spotlight off, switch to the unlocked position
and press the trigger.
Warning! Loose connectors may cause overheated wires
and melted insulation.
Using the hanging loop
The hanging loop (2) may be used to hang the spotlight from
a suitable location.
Warning! When using the hanging loop and the spotlight is
turned on keep combustible materials away from the
spotlight lens. Extreme heat can cause fires.
MAINTENANCE
Your Black & Decker tool has been designed to operate over
a long period of time with a minimum of maintenance.
Continuous satisfactory operation depends upon proper tool
care and regular cleaning.
Warning! Before performing any maintenance or cleaning
on the appliance, unplug the appliance.
From time to time wipe the appliance with a damp cloth.
Do not use any abrasive or solvent-based cleaner. Do
not immerse the appliance in water.
Replacing the fuse in the vehicle dc accessory plug
Remove the cap by turning it counter clockwise.
Remove the centre pin and the spring.
Remove the fuse.
Fit a new fuse of the same type and size (8 A).
Install the centre pin and spring.
Tighten the cap by turning clockwise onto the plug.
PROTECTING THE ENVIRONMENT
Separate collection. This product must not be
disposed of with normal household waste.
Should you find one day that your appliance needs
replacement, or if it is of no further use to you, think of the
protection of the environment. Black & Decker repair agents
will accept old Black & Decker tools and ensure that they are
disposed of in an environmentally safe way.
Separate collection of used products and
packaging allows materials to be recycled and
used again. Re-use of recycled materials helps
prevent environmental pollution and reduces the
demand for raw materials
Local regulations may provide for separate collection of
electrical products from the household, at municipal waste
sites or by the retailer when you purchase a new product.
